Student Spotlight Series: Violet Ngoma’s Journey of Perseverance and Possibility

When Violet Ngoma was in high school, she faced a mountain of challenges that could have easily derailed her dreams. Raised by her grandmother in South Luangwa, Violet was determined to succeed, but the path forward wasn’t always clear or easy.

Thanks to Dazzle Africa sponsorship from Sharon Liu and Claudia Zundel, Violet was able to continue her education through secondary school. What set Violet apart was her unwavering perseverance. Instead of giving up when she experienced challenges, she sought out tutoring and pushed forward, refusing to let setbacks define her future. Her story is one of determination and the incredible power of consistent support.

Violet graduated from high school and went on to study at the Zambia Institute for Tourism & Hospitality Studies - a remarkable achievement. “This sponsorship has really helped me. Because of the sponsors I am now a graduate in hospitality management .”

Today, she’s working in hospitality at the beautiful Flatdogs Camp, a shining example of where hard work, education, and opportunity can lead.

Violet loves meeting new people through the many guests who come through the camp and learning more about wildlife each day.

Now married and raising a family of her own, Violet is building a life that once felt out of reach. She is a testament to what’s possible when a student is believed in, invested in, and given the chance to grow into their potential.

“My advice to other students, is to work as hard as they can in order to achieve the best results. Hard work, perseverance and courage is the key.”
